Terrain and mapping notes for the IOC weekend are now available! Thanks to our club mapping officer Brian Corbett for compiling this description. The weather in recent weeks has been mercifully drier, and our planners and controllers have been busy putting the finishing touches on their courses.

Thanks to John McCullough (3ROC) for unearthing this link to the 1811 Grand Jury Map of Cork by Neville Bath. It's fascinating to see this mapper's interpretation of our competition areas, from 215 years ago! And to see what features and placenames have survived to the present day. Maybe those competitors staying at Dunbeacon campsite will have time to explore the mystery of the disappeared castle..?

Spring has sprung on the Sheep's Head and the daffodils are out early! After a wet few weeks, it was a relief to visit our parking field today to find it is not retaining water!

 We will be announcing preliminary travel details soon, but for now we can say that we are planning to use Durrus as our base for the weekend and shuttle people to/from the races. When entering the competition, we ask that you share information about your travel and accommodation plans to help us with logistics.
